Why should my business use Facebook?
It is a question we get asked a lot. We find that people often approach their Facebook business page with the same way of thinking as their personal page. The expectation is that they’ll post a lovely picture of their products, it will generate lots of likes and comments and the work will come rolling in. When it doesn’t work out like that they often think that Facebook isn’t for them or their business and lose heart. And it’s true – a business Facebook page doesn’t work in the same way as your personal page, but they are still an incredibly powerful tool for your business. Here are our top 5 reasons why Facebook pages are still important for small and local businesses.
Facebook has 2.13 billion monthly users, a 14% increase year on year, and while you probably won’t be wanting to talk to all 2.13 billion of those users, the truth is that Facebook is too big to ignore.
79% of all Americans are on Facebook and, until recently, Facebook had more monthly users than Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter combined. Facebook has embedded itself into our daily lives, so if you want to reach existing and potential customers, a Facebook business page should be your first choice for social media.
Ease of use
A Facebook page is easy and free to use. You probably have a personal Facebook account, adding a Facebook business pageis the work of a few minutes. As 1 in 5 page views in the US occurs on Facebook it is a great place to start if you’ve not got funds to invest in a website at the start of your business journey.
Word of mouth
Word of mouth has long been one of the most powerful and cost-effective ways to get new customers. 92% of consumers read online reviews and people have come to expect that they can visit any business’s Facebook page and see up to date customer feedback easily.
If you’re creating compelling, relevant content your Facebook audience might also share that into their feed and raise your profile with their network.
Customer targeting tools
Facebook Ads give businesses powerful audience profiling and targeting tools at an affordable cost. The data geek in me loves Facebook ads targeting tools as they take the guesswork out of your advertising targeting.
Small businesses can use Facebook Ads to find potential customers who are profile matched to existing customers. You can create advert content personalised to specific audiences as well as different calls to action.
It takes a little time, work and a bit of experimenting but Facebook Ads really are an incredibly powerful growth tool for small and local businesses – but you have to have a business page to use them!
